To coincide with World Environment Day STA dropped in to see Penny Simons, Maker/Sculptor/Weaver living and working in the Southern Highlands of NSW with a studio at the SHAC.

Penny’s work has no environmental footprint and captures the vulnerability, beauty and essence of Nature. Resurrecting the age old traditions of whittling, weaving, foraging and resourcefulness.

Her works are created from materials sourced in the local countryside & resonate with the spiritual and healing qualities present in our natural world.

All things going to plan I will be have a solo exhibition “RETURN TO NATURE” at the SHAC in August. I hope to see you at the opening for art, poetry and music.

The images below are all of some of the works that will be included in the exhibition. See moe of Pennys work on her website, or Instagram.
