Stories from the Studio: Monica Bridge

A very special Stories from the Studio this week with Monica Bridge!

Monica is a contemporary Aboriginal artist, and proud Muruwari and Ngemba woman, living in Goulburn. Monica has been a practising visual artist for many years, working with painting, drawing and sculpture.

“I am passionate about sharing my culture and increasing awareness about Aboriginal culture, history and perspectives through creative practice.”

Monica has completed several collaborative art projects, working with students in preschools, primary schools and high schools, combining artworks that students create, into one design which they paint together, to create a large mural!

“This process has become part of my artistic practice which I thoroughly enjoy, and I am always so inspired by the artworks that students create.”

Here Monica talks with students about her mural at Goulburn South Public School.

You can see more of Monica’s work at her Creative Directory Listing, on Facebook or contact her at [email protected]
