Stories from the Studio: Julie Baker

This week STA got to spend some time with Julie Baker  at her home studio in Braidwood ahead of her exhibition at the Braidwood Regional Art Group. Look out for one of her open days to visit or by appointment under the banner of Artworx by Julie.

Julie offers us a  glimpse into her diverse artistic world. Julie welcomes visitors into her space, where she creates mosaics, knits, crochets, weaves, and sculpts. Her studio is filled with various materials and projects, reflecting her broad vision of art. Julie’s current focus includes floral-themed works and using collected beads and bits to craft unique pieces.

Julie is preparing for a fashion parade art exhibit at BRAG (Braidwood Regional Arts Group) at 43 Wallace Street, from June 28th to 30th. This event will feature artworks and material objects, all priced under $50. Using tie-dye printed fabrics and vintage materials she has collected over the years, Julie aims to share her creations with the community. She hopes this exhibit will be successful and plans to host another one in three months. Visitors can look forward to seeing her creative work at the upcoming exhibition. The Art  Fashion Exhibition and Show, opening night and fashion parade will kick off at 6pm, Friday 28 June at BRAG! FIND OUT MORE
