I could have ticked all the boxes for the last 2 questions but decided to limit my responses to the higher priorities. Always happy to be supportive where I can.

Would you like to add anything further?: The Goulburn Mulwaree region has some excellent performance and creative spaces, and a wonderful pool of talented artists and performers. I am of the firm view that Council has a role in promoting and stimulating the arts through subsidies, grant programmes and the like, to provide the milieu for a culturally rich and diverse community.

Would you like to add anything further?: As a music teacher and operatic soprano I believe there needs to be more focus on getting young children into music, dance and bands in the community and I intend to seek further funding and opportunities for these projects.

Would you like to add anything further?: I am absolutely passionate for theatre and art. It brings balance, perspective, understanding and healing to life. I also sing in the St Peter Paul’s Cathedral Men’s Choir and know firsthand how performance is good for your mental health and community belonging.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council manages the LGA of 3,223 sq. km. Located in the Southern Tablelands it encompasses the towns and villages including Baw Baw, Boxers Creek, Brayton, Breadalbane Plains, Bungonia, Carrick, Currawang, Covan Creek, Eastgrove, Inveralochy, Joppa Junction, Kingsdale, Lake Bathurst, Marulan, Mummel, Parkesbourne, Run-O-Waters, Springfield, Tallong, Tarago, The Forest, Tirrannaville, Towrang, Windellama, Wollogorang, and Yarra.

The Goulburn Mulwaree shares borders with the LGAs of Upper Lachlan, Yass Valley, Queanbeyan Palerang, Wingecarribee and Shoalhaven. The LGA is located 95km north-east of Canberra and about 200 km south-west of Sydney. It is a member of the Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO) along with five other STA Partner Councils. It is within the Destination Southern NSW (DSNSW) area.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA is situated on Gundungurra and Ngunawal country and is home to First Nations people from many language groups including Wiradjuri.

The Council represents 32,710 people (ABS ERP 2023) in a shire encompassing the commercial activities of sheep and cattle grazing, wool, grain growing, and orcharding, viticulture and limestone mining, retail, hospitality, tourism, financial, health and administration services, education, arts and culture.

Goulburn has a long and proud history and was declared Australia’s first inland city in 1863.
