Our region’s premier Waste to Art exhibition. With $2700 in prizes on offer. A gallery full of creative treasure made from trash. Be dazzled and amazed by what’s not going to landfill or ending up in our environment.

Not So Fun Fact

Illlegal dumping of waste is a problem in our community. Waste that is illegally dump could end up in our creeks, rivers and bush land. 
Here’s a list of common illegally dumped items in Wollondilly. (ordered by number of incidents, rather than total weight)

  1. Mattresses
  2. Tyres (currently a big problem with over 30 tyres recently dumped in local bush land and waterways)
  3. Furniture, especially lounges, cupboards etc
  4. Bricks and concrete, tiles, timber
  5. Carpet
  6. Cardboard & packaging materials, plastic, paper
  7. Clothing
  8. Whitegoods
  9. Exercise equipment e.g. treadmill, exercise bikes
  10. TV’s, appliances, microwaves, toasters (E waste)
  11. Gas bottles
  12. Oil & Oil bottles

Apart from Making Art there are lots of ways you can help prevent waste ending up in our rivers and bush. The EPA or Environmental Protection Agency has heaps of info so you can get active and be part of the solution…
