The PARKLET is a joyous addition to the Crookwell streetscape adding colour and a comfy place to sit. It is adored with paintings by students at Crookwell Primary School.

The kids created the paintings with Sally O’Neill at a workshop inspired by Sally’s mural ‘What a Cowtastrophe!’ around the corner. Sally worked with 51 students in a series of workshops to create two mini murals on boards that were when used to cover the sides of the parklets.

First we worked with the youngest students to create a bright, geometric abstract background before the primary students painted portraits of various farm animals. The products are truly delightful! There are so many young talented artists in Crookwell ๐Ÿฅฐ
This workshop was so very special as it was the first I had ever delivered to students as an artist outside of my job at the Gallery๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜! It was also the first time I had worked face to face with students at a school since COVID lockdown!
Thanks to the school for having me along and to Southern Tablelands Arts and Upper Lachlan Shire Council for making it all happen ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ
