The STA Artist Bursary is your chance to be a visible part of the 2025 Majors Creek Festival and enjoy one of our region’s premier music and cultural festivals. It is also a fantastic chance to interact, at a grass-roots level, with festival attendees and the “behind-the scenes” crew of the festival.
This is the third year of the STA Artist Bursary which has come to be an exciting part of the festival. The bursary is open to all creatives who are STA Members*, inclusive of all creative practises, whether you make, sing, perform, write or produce.
THE OFFER – The Artists Bursary includes;

THE ASK – Our Artist Bursary recipients are asked to be visible presence at the festival.

*STA Membership is free due to the to the support of the NSW Government through Create NSW and our seven contributing council areas. STA Membership is available to everyone living within our contributing council areas of Goulburn Mulwaree, Hilltops, Queanbeyan Palerang, Upper Lachlan, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly & Yass Valley.

Majors Creek Festival is held on the Majors Creek Rec ground in the beautiful village of Majors Creek in the Queanbeyan Palerang Shire. Majors Creek sits above the Araluan valley and Deua National Park approximately 15 minutes from Braidwood, and 1 hour from Canberra, Goulburn and Bateman’s Bay.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY
The STA Bursary covers entry and camping for the Artist/s only, you’re welcome to bring others provided they have a valid festival ticket.
Extra tickets – to be paid for prior to festival starting. You will be invoiced for these extra tickets and wrist bands will be given out on arrival. Any extra tickets needed will need to be paid for at least 24 hours before the festival starts.
Children under 18 may camp for free. Every extra camper over 18 must buy a ticket. Please let us know if you will need extra tickets and how many.

The team at Majors Creek Festival highly value the wellbeing of our team, artists, volunteers and contributors. In the interest of harbouring a safe space, the text below will assist you in understanding the responsibilities and expectations while you’re on site. All persons are responsible for taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others.
Majors Creek Festival Inc. must make sure you are as safe as possible while you are contributing, but you must:
Essentially, what is reasonable care would be what a reasonable person would do in the circumstances considering things like:
Taking reasonable care is not hard. Just do the things outlined above and talk to a festival team member if you have any concerns about your health and safety or that of others in relation to your work.
Artists need to be aware that, in addition to looking after their physical wellbeing, bullying is a WHS concern and will not be tolerated. If you are experiencing bullying, or witness bullying behaviour, it is an expectation that you be an active bystander and speak up.
If you have any concerns about ANYTHING regarding your physical and mental wellbeing you are advised to contact your team leader. If this is not a possibility, for whatever reason, contact a festival team member.
