Wollondilly Waste to Art  Prize 2025

Enter your work below into the 2025 WW2A Prize. With $2600 in prize money it’s the STA Regions premier waste to art program.
Entry is free and open to all residents of the STA region (Hilltops, Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Queanbeyan Palerang, Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, and Yass Valley). Maximum two entries per artist (entered inthe same form).

  • OPEN – (18+) $1700 1st Prize $1,000 / 2nd Prize $400.00 / 3rd Prize $300 Open to STA Region Artists
  • Youth (12 -17 YEARS) & (7 – 11 YEARS) $400 4 equal prizes of $100
  • WOLLONDILLY COMMUNITY – $500 All entries from Wollondilly artists  

Works must include waste materials and may address the theme of reuse and repair.

  • 7-11 July – Holiday workshops across the STA region. Check our What’s On for dates as they are announced.
  • Fri 11 July – Entries close
  • Tues 15 July 10am-2pm – Wollondilly Public workshop and late entry opportunity
  • Tues 15 July 12pm-2pm  – Selected works delivered to Wollondilly Shire Hall 52 Menangle Street, Picton 
  • Thurs 17 July 12.30pm-3pm – Official opening celebration
  • Fri 18 – Sat 19 July 10am-2pm – Exhibition open
  • Mon 21 July 1pm-4pm – work pick up from Picton 

Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize is a sustainable program by Wollondilly Shire Council & Southern Tablelands Arts.
The Waste to Art regional workshops program is a great way to create a work in the lead up tothe WW2A Prize. Check our what’s on for dates as they are announced.
               

Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize 2025 – Conditions of Entry

All Artists must enter in either of the following two categories:

    • OPEN – (18+) $1600
      1st Prize $1,000 / 2nd Prize $400 / 3rd Prize $300  Open to all Artists from across the STA Region.
    • Youth (12 -17 YEARS) & (7 – 11 YEARS) $400 
      4 equal prizes of $100

Wollondilly residents are also automatically entered into the Wollondilly Community section of the prize pool.

    • WOLLONDILLY COMMUNITY –  $500
      Emerging and established artists that live within the Wollondilly LGA.

All works displayed in the exhibition are part of the STA Peoples’ Choice Award. The winner of which receives a Stories from the Studio feature.

  • Residents living in the STA Region are eligible to enter; Hilltops, Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Queanbeyan Palerang, Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, and Yass Valley.
  • Residents living within Wollondilly Shire are automatically entered into the Wollondilly Community prize category.
  • All works must be original, and work of the artist created within the last 12 months.
  • Works must include waste materials.
  • Works may address the theme of textile waste and fast fashion.
  • Works must fit within a one metre square area and weigh no more than 15 kilos. Please contact STA if you have a works outside of these limits you would like to enter.
  • By entering into the Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize you give STA the right to reproduce images of the entered work for promotional purposes both digitally (online) and in print. 
  • Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the organisers. Large works must be delivered in person to Picton and picked up.
  • All 2D works must be framed and ready to hang with D-Ring hooks or similar.
  • Sculpture works can only be submitted if they are suitable for display on a flat surface (plinth or floor) and sits within a perimeter of 1msq (taller works can be negotiated)
  • Two entries allowed per person.
  • Under 18yr old entries need to include acknowledgement and email contact for a parent or guardian.
  • Entry is free
  • The work can be for sale all sales enquiries are directed to the artist’s email. No commission will be charged on sales resulting from the Waste to Art exhibition. If artwork is not for sale mark the price section with – NFS).
  • Artists exhibit at their own risk
  • Artists are responsible for all insurances and costs of delivery and pick up of works while in tranist to and from the Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize. 
  • STA and Wollondilly Shire Council cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to any artwork whilst on display as part of the Wollondilly Waste to Art Prize.
  • STA reserve the right to reject any wet, dangerous or delicate works that cannot be safely exhibited or any work received in a condition unsuitable for presentation.
  • STA reserve the right to reproduce any works in print or media for promotional purposes.
  • Artworks must be delivered to;

Wollondilly Shire Hall 52 Menangle Street, Picton on Tues 15 July between 12-2pm. 

  • All works must be wrapped or boxed suitably on arrival and be clearly label with the Artist name and work title.
  • Collect artworks from Wollondilly Shire Hall on Mon 21 July bewteen 1pm -4pm
  • Artists must make arrangements for the work to be picked up at this time or contact the organsier to negotiate alternative arrangements. 
  • Uncollected works will be disposed of by the organsier.
  • The Judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into
