Stories from the Studio: Studio OneFive

Join us for an inside look at the first glass blowing studio in the Southern Highlands with Scott and Gina from Studio OneFive.

Studio OneFive is the first glass blowing studio in the Southern Highlands, creating glass homewares and jewellery, while embracing sustainability practices. We established the studio this year, bringing together Scott’s incredible experience of 35-years of working with glass, with Gina’s vision as an arts journalist-come-jeweller.

As part of our commitment to regenerative design, we are always thinking about what and how we make. We believe that sustainability is about doing it together, so we work with local distilleries and wineries across the region to source our bottles, as well as local shops to reuse their packing materials.

Follow Studio OneFive on Instagram or Facebook or check out their website.

The outcome? From drinking tumblers to wine carafes to earrings – it’s about holistic liveability.

‘It is great to roll out the sustainability credentials, but one of the greatest markers of that ethos is longevity. You keep it around because it is good design, not because it is an old wine or gin bottle,’ explains Scott. ‘We believe good design must come first, and impact follows as people choose to live with our designs.’

We are itching to get our doors open to the public. We will be launching the studio in November, and in the new year will present open days and hot shop demos once a month to coincide with Mittagong markets, as well as workshops and in-studio events. Sign up to our season newsletter (just four times a year) via our website so you don’t miss out.

Can’t wait for the Studio doors to open? Check out the Studio OneFive online store.
