The Teahouse Gallery, Crookwell organised a ‘Singing Bowls, Music and Therapy’ course on Saturday 6 March, hosted by Stephen Carroll.

Three participants had a hands on experience handling Tibetan brass bowls, crystal bowls and the shruti box. Each with their own unique sound and resonance.

Singing bowls have been used in various forms for millennia. Originally used for religious and spiritual purposes, they are now also used as a therapy tool. Sound therapy and music therapy have been demonstrated to assist with various conditions and as an excellent adjunct to meditation, mindfulness and stress reduction. This is experienced as a “Sound Bath”.
