Southern Sounds: Mariah K

Mariah is a singer songwriter from Crookwell. Mariah says she  inherited her musical talents from her Greek grandmother, infusing her songs with the lively spirit of her Mediterranean roots. Her debut album, ‘Journey,’ released in 2021, introduced her captivating voice and poetic storytelling to the world.

One standout track, ‘Elada,’ gained global acclaim and even received airtime in places as distant as Crete and Melbourne. In 2023, Mariah K’s performance of ‘Elada’ alongside bouzouki virtuoso Stratos Gianakakis at Smith’s Alternative brought the vibrant essence of Greece to Canberra.

Her journey took an unexpected turn when Kyle Sandilands discovered her talent during a visit to her family cafe, leading to an invitation to Australian Idol 2023! Building on her success, Mariah K recently dropped ‘Fire Up,’ a single produced by Ingrid Oram, capturing the lively atmosphere of a summer party.
