Stories from the Studio: Lambing flat Writers Fellowship of Australian Writers

The Lambing Flat Fellowship of Australian Writers group are base in Young (Hilltops region).

STA recently met with the groups President Jennifer Haynes and Joan Dwyer to talk about the groups 40th Anniversary. They have been going strong since 1982 and every year run a writing competition attracting entries from across the nation.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary, they’ve produced a very special publication. NUGGETS OF GOLD is and anthology that contains the winners from 40 years of the writing competition both in the story and poetry categories.

Jennifer and Joan are rightly very proud of NUGGESTS OF GOLD. Our STA Director Rose can recommend a sunny armchair and a copy of the book makes  a great Sunday afternoon.

Copies are available to buy for your collection by contacting  [email protected].

Winners of this year’s competition are about to be announced during the Cherry Festival on Sunday 4th December in Anderson Park (Lovell St Young). Be there at 10am for the announcement and stay all day for a fabulous day in the park.

It’s an amazing achievement to celebrate 40 years for a writing group and we congratulate the groups members and committee.
