In a special International Women’s Day edition of Stories from the Studio we talk to Kristie Phelan, head of Sturt Gallery & Studios. Kristie brings her innovative leadership and hands-on expertise as a creator of acclaimed television programs, events, and global marketing initiatives. With over 25 years of diverse experience leading teams across broadcast media, exhibitions, and events in Australia and London, she is well-versed in achieving excellence in creativity and design. Kristie’s deep passion for fostering creativity, collaboration, and community is evident in her active advocacy for the arts in the Southern Highlands and beyond. Leading Sturt into its ninth decade, she takes pride in its legacy as Australia’s oldest and most vibrant design center.

Come celebrate Sturt’s stunning all women’s show EVOKE opening this Sunday 10 March at 11am. Craft appreciators are converging on Sturt to show their support for Australia’s oldest design centre and school for contemporary craft! EVOKE showcases: ceramics . mixed media . fibre art . sculpture and painting by all women artists including: ROBYN KINSELA,  BIRTE LARSEN, RUTH LEVINE, TRACY LUFF, MARICELLE OLIVIER and NETTIE SUMNER
