Stories from the Studio: Julie Baker – Braidwood Regional Arts Group – Paper Trail Market

Stories From The Studio: STA caught up with Julie from Artworx by Julie to hear about the Braidwood Regional Arts Group and their upcoming event, the “Paper Trail Market” which is one highlight of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Arts Trail. This lively, market-style exhibition will feature works on paper by 13 talented artists. Visitors can look forward to browsing through a rich variety of unframed pieces, artworks you can pick up, explore closely, and purchase to take home. The atmosphere is designed to be welcoming and interactive, giving art lovers the joy of connecting directly with local creativity.

The Queanbeyan-Palerang Arts Trail is an annual celebration of artistic excellence running across three consecutive weekends in October. The trail invites you to wander through Braidwood, Bungendore, Queanbeyan, and Captains Flat, each offering its own vibrant mix of galleries, studios, and creative spaces.

This is more than an exhibition, it’s an open invitation to step into the world of the artists themselves. Watch creativity unfold, speak with makers about their inspiration, and experience the diverse practices that define the region. From delicate ceramics and striking glassworks to bold paintings, intricate textiles, and beautifully crafted jewellery, the range is extraordinary. Every stop on the trail reveals something new and surprising.

The format of the trail means you can take your time. With three weekends to explore, there’s no need to rush, you can plan visits around the towns, enjoy local cafes and historic main streets, and soak up the creative atmosphere at your own pace. Whether you’re an art collector, a casual browser, or simply curious, the Queanbeyan-Palerang Arts Trail offers an inspiring journey through the talent of the region.

Make October a month of discovery, connection, and celebration, follow the trail, meet the makers, and be part of this extraordinary creative adventure.Visit their website for more info.
