Stories from the Studio: Emmaleen Diaz

This week we caught up with the talented Emmaleen Diaz!

Emmaleen is an emerging contemporary artist based in the Southern Highlands, and has been creating art since she  was just eight years old.

Born in Colombia and raised in Australia, Emmaleen’s practice focuses on expressive abstract painting, with vibrant colours and bold thick brush strokes.

Emmaleen recently graduated from the National Arts School in Sydney with a Bachelor of Fine Arts! She was also the inaugural artist in residence at Mental Gallery in Bowral and has exhibited at the Aarwun Gallery in Canberra, Penrith Regional Gallery, Hillview Heritage Hotel and Tyger Gallery in Yass.

And just this week in Goulburn, Emmaleen was awarded the Veolia Creative Arts Scholarship for 2023! Congratulations Emmaleen!
