Stories from the Studio: Creative Edge Exhibition by ‘Art Friends’

This week at Stories from the Studio we get to talk to some of the artists from Art Friends who are currently holding an exhibition titled Creative Edge at Wollondilly Shire Hall.

Art Friends started midway through 2019, with the idea being “a group of creatives with diverse interests coming together once a week to work on their projects, share ideas, offer support and encouragement to each other, chat and have fun”

We get together each week at the lovely Balmoral Village Hall. We generally work on our own projects. We have an eclectic mix of creatives which allows us to help one another and provide mini workshops for different styles or mediums that we may not be familiar with. Our range of skills include drawing and painting in a wide variety of mediums such as Oil, Watercolour, Acrylic, Ink, Gouache, Charcoal and Graphite we also have skills in Printmaking, Eco Printing on paper and fabric, Spinning and Knitting, Textile Stitch art, Wire Sculpture, Hand Carved wooden spoons, hair pins, crochet hooks,Timber Bandsaw Boxes, Ceramics, Mosaics and Photography with Digitally added Detail.
With our diverse range of skills and knowledge we have helped nurture those new to Art and we continue to provide them with ongoing encouragement in their creative pursuits. Our emphasis is simply; “to have a love of being creative while in a friendly, supportive and fun environment”.
“In December 2021 we were fortunate to take part in a Pop Up Art Trail. We are very excited to be holding our first Art Friends exhibition ‘Creative Edge’ at the Wollondilly Shire Hall and appreciate the support from STA!”

Exhibiting Artists include Pam Berrell, Sheila Roberts, Geraldine Hunt, Tracey Chapman, Els Dirick, Ingrida Spole, Linda Burgess, Doreen Lyon

You can see Creative Edge at Wollondilly Shire Hall from December 9 – 12.
