Stories from the Studio: Bronwyn Hill

This week we caught up with textile artist and owner of the Braidwood Quilt Store about her work and the quilt making challenge she is leading for the 2023 Braidwood Airing of the Quilts. Bronwyn is a textile artist who specializes in art quilts. She is fascintated by colour and texture, and loves to use raw edge, free form aplique techniques in her work. She also creates quilts by comission, and sells many of her handmade quilt at her Braidwood store. This year in preparation for the annual Airing of the Quilts,  Bronwyn at is holding an open challenge for anyone who would like to make a 50 x50 cm . She encourages anyone with an interest in quiltmaking, from begginer  to advance to join in! Over two days the festival is a celebration of quilting, craft and the historical village of Braidwood. Quilts from all genres will be hung from the historic town’s 19th century verandahs on both days. Make sure you check out The Braidwood Quilt Store which has a curated collection of over 3,000 quilting fabrics on offer!
