Flexing/Flecks Sing
Work by Alison Ford – Main Waiting Room Gallery
10am – 3pm every Fridays and Saturdays 18 July – 5 September
Alison lives in Southern NSW, surrounded by rainforest, where the changing nature of colour influences her semi-sculptural pieces and paintings. Using paint, collage, pencils, ink, cardboard, and photography, Alison explores the emotional impact of colour from an abstract perspective. This exhibition, “Flexing/Flecks Sing,” challenges conventional art forms and comments on harmonic discordances in the colours used. Influenced by artists like Stanley Whitney, Ann Truitt, and Olafur Eliasson, Alison likens her art to music, where abstract art and music evoke emotional responses through dissonance or harmony.
