Stories from the Studio: William Verdon

In the heart of Braidwood, William Verdon Manufacturing Jewellers is a place where creativity, craftsmanship and storytelling come together. At the centre of it all is jeweller William Verdon, an exceptional artist whose passion for handmade jewellery has been shaping beautiful pieces for more than three decades.

William specialises in designing and handcrafting unique, bespoke jewellery that reflects the personality, stories and milestones of the people who wear it. Working closely with clients, he transforms ideas, memories and inspirations into one-of-a-kind pieces. Whether it’s an engagement ring, a wedding band or a deeply personal heirloom, every creation is made by hand using traditional jewellery techniques and carefully selected precious metals and gemstones.

Handmade never goes out of style, each piece is thoughtfully designed and individually crafted, offering something truly special, a point of difference that simply cannot be found in mass-produced jewellery. William can source almost any gemstone and works with both new and recycled materials, giving clients endless creative possibilities when designing a piece that celebrates love, commitment or life’s special moments.

Beyond bespoke work, the workshop also offers jewellery repairs, remodelling and maintenance of treasured pieces, helping keep precious items beautiful for generations. The gallery space showcases William’s own handmade jewellery alongside an eclectic mix of artworks by talented Braidwood artists working across a variety of media, creating a vibrant creative hub within the town.

William’s creative curiosity extends beyond the jeweller’s bench. His photographic exhibition “Some Things I Saw” will be on display at Rusten House Art Centre from 7 March to 2 May.
The exhibition captures fleeting moments of everyday life, scenes both large and small, revealing the extraordinary beauty hidden within ordinary encounters. Like his jewellery, William’s photography reflects a careful eye, patience and an appreciation for the details that others might miss.
Exhibition opening @ 2pm Saturday 7th March get along and have a chat with William in person.
