Stories from the Studio: Eduardo Ruiz
STA were the guests of honour this week as we met with Eduardo Ruiz at Rusten House in Queanbeyan. Eduardo plays the most enchanting classical guitar, and it was a delight to hear him play traditional songs from his homeland Peru.
Eduardo is a concert performer and music instructor who has just moved to Queanbeyan from Young where he was teaching at the esteemed Young Regional Conservatorium. As a talented and dedicated musical educator Eduardo can now be found teaching at Hume Conservatorium and local primary schools. With a unique blend of traditional classical guitar techniques and vibrant Peruvian influences his lessons are enjoyable and culturally enriching.
Eduardo moved to Australia from his home in Lima, Peru in 2019, driven by a fervent passion for the arts and a desire for a brighter future. He played with a band in Melbourne, leading to a role as a music teacher. He has since graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Master of Music Performance and Pedagogy. Enduro has performed in the Recitals Australia Lunch Hour series. And various venues in Adelaide, Melbourne, Young. He makes regular special appearances at Peruvian events.
Eduardo aspires to perform in auditoriums across Australia, sharing the richness of Peruvian music. He aims to establish an ensemble dedicated to promoting Peruvian music, record albums and undertae global tours to showcase his cultural heritage.
Enduro is a special guest performer at the next Garth & Friends music night at the Goulburn Club on Friday 1 August.
