Class of 2026 Leaves Its Mark with Vibrant New Mural at Yass High School
A colourful new mural now brightens the walls of Yass High School, capturing the spirit, memories and achievements of the graduating Class of 2026.
The inspiring arts project was brought to life through a collaboration between Southern Tablelands Arts and Yass High School, giving Year 12 students the opportunity to turn their ideas into a lasting piece of public art.
The journey began with a creative workshop facilitated by Southern Tablelands Arts, where students were invited to share designs, themes and stories that reflected their school experience. From memorable moments with friends to personal growth, challenges overcome and hopes for the future, the workshop generated a wealth of ideas that would ultimately shape the mural’s final design.
Mural artist Eddie Mo then transformed those concepts into a striking visual masterpiece. Going above and beyond the original brief, Eddie extended the artwork across two additional walls, connecting the design and creating an even more impressive feature for the school community to enjoy.
The finished mural celebrates much more than a graduating class. It tells a story of resilience, friendship, creativity and shared experiences. The mural serves as a reminder of the laughter, hard work and determination that defined the students’ time at Yass High School.
As future students pass the mural each day, they will be reminded of the legacy left behind by the Class of 2026. For those who helped create it, the artwork will stand as a lasting tribute to unforgettable school years and the memories that will remain long after graduation.
