Stories From the Studio: Queanbeyan Arts Society
The Queanbeyan Art Society (QAS) has been fostering creativity and supporting artists since its establishment in 1967. As a non-profit organisation, QAS provides a welcoming and encouraging environment where artists of all skill levels can develop their talents, learn from one another, and showcase their work.
Located on the picturesque banks of the Queanbeyan River, the society hosts a diverse program of exhibitions, competitions, classes, workshops and community events throughout the year. QAS presents 11 exhibitions annually, along with 11 Member Art Profile exhibitions that spotlight the work of individual society members.
Many artworks on display are available for purchase, while the gallery’s gift shop offers a range of unique handcrafted items. Visitors can also keep up to date with activities through the society’s monthly newsletter. Regular art groups cater to a variety of artistic styles and mediums, welcoming beginners and experienced artists alike. Professional workshops led by visiting tutors are held throughout the year, providing further opportunities for learning and artistic growth.
