STA are proud partners with Wollondilly Council for the Illuminate Wollondilly Festival of Art & Light.

After a two-year hiatus the 2022 festival transformed Picton into an enchanting world of art, performance, light and colour.  Back bigger and better with events and activities happening over three days 20-22 May.

STA was part of the fun on Friday 20th with a lantern parade that lit a path through the Picton Botanic Gardens with several hundred community members, that made lanterns in workshops with STA in the led up to the festival. We even created a self-led online lantern making workshop with artist Tracy Luff now available at STA kids.

The parade ended at the spectacular illuminated sculpture and lantern display create by our friends at  LightnUp Inc the same artists that do the annual Lismore Lantern Parade (if you’ve never been to the Lismore Lantern Parade this year is the best time to show your support for Lismore)

Other highlights on Friday evening was the sensational Long Table Dinner and the return of the family carnival on the outskirts of Hume oval.

On Saturday 21st the main street of Picton was transformed with market stalls, food court and live entertainment from local community groups and musicians. But the star of the show was the spectacular building projections and light displays across many of the grander building of the town.

STA remained with the LightnUp team in the Picton Botanic gardens with the lighting and lantern display.

The night was capped off by a very hot Family Fireworks display.

A cool and relaxed Sunday vibe on the 22nd saw an afternoon of Jazz & Swing music with picnickers enjoying a free concert in the Picton Botanic Gardens.

STA extend a huge congratulation to the amazing events team at Wollondilly Shire Council led by Rob Moran who work tirelessly to make Illuminate in 2022 bigger and better than ever.
