2018 has been another busy and productive year for the Southern Tablelands Arts Team with highlights including the Science Hub Astronomy and Culture Program, Dance for Wellbeing, escorting Create NSW into three regional communities, engaging with artists and creatives with professional development programs, Wine Press author program and of course attending exhibitions, performances and other arts and cultural activities throughout the region.
The break over Christmas and New Year will give all of us time to draw breath and be with family and friends. If you’re still thinking about Christmas gifts and not sure, remember to think about supporting local artists and crafts people in out region. In Goulburn, think about popping in to the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, Gallery on Track and the Goulburn Visitor Information Centre to find that special hand-made gift. Slightly further afield there are galleries and shops selling arts and crafts in Crookwell, Gunning, Marulan and Taralga. Turn your gift buying venture into a day trip and have some fun. Remember Christmas is not just about buying things, it’s a time to connect in our communities and to support each other. Council’s Australia Day nominations are open. Think about who deserves to be recognised in our community. I wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas and see you in the new year.
The Southern Tablelands Arts Office will be closed untill the 30th of January while the team recharges and gets ready for another busy year.
