Highland Community Centres – Secretary Needed
An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, repeating until March 31, 2019
Highlands Community Centres (HCC) is an independent, non-political and non-denominational community organisation incorporated 31 years ago. Significant program and staff funding is received from NSW state government; with additional funding from other non-government grants. Wingecarribee Shire Council supports with provision of rent-free premises and utilities. HCC operates from Stafford Cottage at 22 Bendooley Street in the centre of Bowral, and the Youth Hub at Loseby Park, Bowral Our mission is to work collaboratively and inclusively to provide life improving programmes for children, young people and families Our vision is that all people living in the Southern Highlands should have access to equitable opportunities and support. Our services include • Friendly and confidential information and referral services to the community • Interagency liaison support for financial, tax and legal advice. • No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) • Programs for Seniors and Young Adults and Women • Access to Odyssey House Support • Various Youth support, Outreach and educational Services • Aboriginal Community worker Highlands Community Centres Inc Management Committee has an active President, Vice President, Treasurer and three regular members. We are seeking the services and commitment of a Secretary.
The Secretary is responsible for: • Ensuring all correspondence and official records of the association (other than financial records) are up to date, accurate and in order and available to be looked at by those authorised to do so • Assisting the Chair and Executive Officer to organise Board meetings • Ensuring that meeting papers (agenda, correspondence and previous minutes) have been distributed • Ensuring the minutes of the meeting are taken, either by themselves or delegated to a minute taker • Working with the Chair to ensure the meeting runs smoothly • Working with the Chair and General Manager to ensure all correspondence that relates to the Board or committee is dealt with in a timely manner • Knowing the rules of the organisation and taking responsibility for all the legal requirements of incorporation
